DENVER—A joint venture announced Wednesday said it acquired 17 sites of former Albertsons grocery stores, from Loveland to Colorado Springs, and plans to renovate them over the next two years.
Hampton Retail Partners of Denver and Inland West Real Estate Partners of Chicago did not release terms of the acquisition. Their joint venture is called Hampton Retail Investors LLC.
Totaling more than 780,000 square feet of retail space, the sites include 11 properties in metropolitan Denver, three in Colorado Springs, and one each in Loveland, Greeley and Security. They were left vacant when Albertsons closed them in 2006.
The company will spend about $30 million over the next two years to renovate the properties. Denver-based Hampton Partners is owned and managed by Jeff and Scott Robinson.
