Qwest ranked highest in customer satisfaction among broadband Internet providers in the West, according to a study released today by JD Power and Associates.

Verizon Communications and Earthlink ranked second and third, respectively, in the region, the study states.

“Qwest’s reliable broadband service and our guaranteed price for life are two reasons we believe Qwest ranks highest when it comes to customer satisfaction,” said Paula Kruger, Qwest executive vice president of mass markets, in a statement.

Comcast ranked among the worst in the West. Comcast has had low scores in other customer service studies, and the Philadelphia-based company has said it is working to improve the problems.

Denver-based Qwest and Comcast are the largest Internet providers in Colorado.

The JD Power study also states that 35 percent of Internet service customers still subscribe to dial-up.
