Women of Faith, a national women’s group that hosts conferences across the country, is slated to draw up to 18,000 women Friday and Saturday to hear messages of “grace and encouragement.”
Comedians, dramatists, authors and motivational speakers will deliver these messages at Denver’s Pepsi Center.
This year’s conference, “Amazing Freedom,” is sold out, with 18,000 tickets already bought for Friday night’s show and Saturday’s day-long event.
A pre-conference show will be held early Friday morning, spokeswoman Briana Spensrud said.
Event organizers call it two days of “refreshment, reality without reproach and relationships.”
Women of Faith urges attendees to “check their masks at the door.” The message is that “God loves you right where you are in life.”
The purpose of these conferences is for women to reconnect with God and with each other, Spensrud said.
Music from Christian artists is the soundtrack.
The whole weekend package, including box lunches, costs up to $129 for premium individual seating.
The Plano, Texas-based Women of Faith held its first conferences in 10 churches in 1996 but started booking arenas the next year to accommodate demand.
The company, owned by Bible and book publisher Thomas Nelson Inc., holds about 40 conferences a year, with 10,000 to 20,000 people attending each one.
