Re: Where time stands still – JB’s Drive In does things the old-fashioned way, Sept. 26

Posted by Jill Andre

Thank you for doing the wonderful article about JB’s Drive In. I worked there as a carhop in 1970 while in high school. The Clarks taught me a strong work ethic and helped me survive my teenage years and I will forever be indebted to them for that. Clarence and Geneva were like second parents to me! JB’s sponsored Little League teams for my two sons and it was a great place to meet after the games. They are an asset to our community.

I just want to thank you for putting the raw food recipes in the newspaper, and I’m specifically thanking you today for mentioning the local raw woman’s blog site (Terilynn Epperson’s ) about it. I’m eating mostly that way (and my husband too – helps keep him healthy from high blood pressure), and love it, and anything in the newspaper about it (including recipes) is really fun.

I enjoyed your Fresh Tomato Salsa recipe on Page 2F. It is quite similar to the one I use. Once I ran out of sugar and substituted two tablespoons (or to your taste) of crushed pineapple and it was delish.
