CANON CITY, Colo.—A Vietnam-era AH-1G Cobra helicopter has been placed on display at the Fremont County War Memorial Park at the Fremont County Airport.

The memorial honors helicopter pilots and crews in the Vietnam war.

The Cobra, mounted on a pedestal, was loaned to the memorial committee by the Army.

“As long as it’s up and maintained, we get to keep it,” committee member Dave Strom said.

Strom said the committee is restoring a UH “Huey” helicopter that will also be mounted and displayed at the memorial.
