GOLDEN, Colo.—A man who worked or volunteered as a music instructor and color guard coach at five high schools is accused of sexually assaulting female students at those schools, sheriff’s officials said Tuesday.
William Samuel Paxton, 42, was being held on charges of sexual assault and sexual assault on a child/position of trust, Jefferson County sheriff’s spokeswoman Jacki Kelley said in a statement.
Paxton spent time at Arvada, Alameda, D’Evelyn, Jefferson and Lakewood high schools. Investigators believe there are more victims.
Paxton had worked as both a volunteer and a contract employee for Jefferson Public Schools for several years.
