DENVER—They were swept in the World Series, but the Colorado Rockies will get a rally in downtown Denver on Wednesday to celebrate the National League pennant they captured after an amazing 21-1 run.
City officials said MVP candidate Matt Holliday, ace Jeff Francis, third-baseman Garrett Atkins and manager Clint Hurdle would be among the Rockies attending the 11:45 a.m. event.
Gov. Bill Ritter and Mayor John Hickenlooper also plan to be there.
The Red Sox, who won the Series for the second time in four years, were honored with a parade in Boston on Tuesday.
