BALTIMORE—A Baltimore couple who headed a major crack cocaine ring that supplied drugs to bars in Fells Point and southeast Baltimore were sentenced to prison Friday.
U.S. District Judge Andre Davis sentenced 35-year-old Humberto Gasca to more than 13 years in prison. The fact that Gasca is a career criminal with prior robbery and narcotics convictions and masterminding the drug ring contributed to the lengthy sentence, prosecutors said.
Gasca’s wife, 41-year-old Josefina Quinonez of Aurora, Colo., was sentenced to 10 years in prison. The couple will also have to serve five years of supervised release on charges of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute crack cocaine.
Humberto Gasca pleaded guilty to supervising and supplying crack cocaine to his wife and 14 other people from November 2005 through December 2006. They dealt about 1.25 kilograms of cocaine during that period to government agents, authorities said.
The ring also produced fake drivers’ licenses, social security cards and registration documents, according to prosecutors.
