Independence Pass between Twin Lakes and Aspen will be closed for the season at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
The road over the pass, Colorado 82, typically closes in mid-October or mid-November, depending on the weather.
But according to the National Weather Service, weather for both Denver and Aspen will be beautiful during the week.
In Aspen today, it should be sunny with a high of 58. Tonight, under clear skies, the low in the mountain community will be 21, forecasters said.
The remainder of the week it will be mostly sunny in Aspen with highs in mid-50s and the lows about 20.
In Denver, the skies should be mostly cloudy today and tonight with the high 53 and a low of 29.
Skies will be clearing in the Mile High City Tuesday with a high of 54 degrees.
