A 28-year-old man who was shot in the stomach during a fight over a parking space Monday is an even-tempered security guard who works for the city and county of Denver, a co-worker said.
John Folsom of Commerce City is taking a two-week leave of absence to recuperate from the shooting, a co-worker said this morning.
“He’s a cool cat to work with,” said the co-worker, who declined to give his name. “That’s why we were all surprised.”
According to a police report, Folsom was shot at about 10 p.m. Monday near 15th and Stout streets. Police are looking for two suspects in a white Jeep Grand Cherokee.
The victim had argued with the suspect over a parking spot, and the argument escalated into a fist fight and then the shooting.
