DJ Shadow and Cut Chemist will fulfill fans’ dreams by pairing up for the Hard Sell Tour, which expands upon the renowned duo’s mix tapes “Brainfreeze” and “Product Placement.” Between Shadow’s vinyl- heavy samples and Chemist’s experience with Ozomatli and Jurassic 5, the show promises to be a head-spinning scratchfest. The Gipsy Kings have played Denver like clockwork the past three summers, but hadn’t announced a new date since summer 2006. Fans of the group’s progressive, pop-oriented flamenco music likely breathed a sigh of relief when the band revealed a March 8 show at the Paramount Theatre earlier this week. Xavier Rudd will visit Colorado for three shows, including Jan. 17 at the Fort Collins’ Aggie, Jan. 18 at the Boulder Theater and Jan. 19 at the Gothic Theatre. Chances are you haven’t heard (or seen) anything like this Australian one-man-band, who plays slide guitars, didgeridoos, harmonica, djembes and various percussion. Finesse Mitchell may have been a minor player on “Saturday Night Live” during his three years there, but he’s one of the more recognizable comedians visiting the newly opened Improv at Northfield Stapleton. Tickets for Mitchell’s Nov. 23-25 stint are on sale now. ($15-$19, .)
