Art Miami is a new way to explore thousands of works of art from around the globe

The Wynwood Art District will be the setting for Art Miami, a new exposition of art Dec. 5-9. With thousands of works being shown by 99 galleries from 17 countries, the range is likely to be pretty staggering. Intriguing pieces are expected, such as the Laurence Miller Gallery offering of the Diane Arbus portfolio the artist was working on when she committed suicide in 1971, and a double-banded bamboo basket created by 77-year-old Japanese master craftsman Torii Ippo, from TAI Gallery in Santa Fe. Look for a strong collection of post-war American and contemporary art as well as early modernist paintings. Admission is $15 adults, under 12 free. Art Miami, NW Second Avenue and 22nd Street, 305-573-1388, .

Comme Ca is a brasserie-style effort from successful chef/owner of Sona, Boule

David Myers, has had huge hits with the delightful Sona, an Asian-meets-French eatery in L.A., and Boule, the bakery across the street. Now he has opened comme Ça, a brasserie that serves traditional French fare. Look for tuna Nicoise, bouillabaisse, coq au vin and other classics served in a casual atmosphere with butcher paper on the tables, antique mirrors and a chalkboard menu. The 120-seat spot also emphasizes signature cocktails and wines by the glass. A cheese counter encourages both snacking and retail purchases. A “no reservations” raw bar offers another dining option. comme Ça, 8479 Melrose Ave., 323-782-1104, .
