Getting your player ready...

An MRI of Kenyon Martin’s right knee revealed a bone bruise, which makes the power forward doubtful for Tuesday’s home game against Indiana. But the Nuggets took a collective sigh of relief, worried that the injury could have been worse, especially because Martin just returned from microfracture surgery on the same knee.

“We just know it won’t be a long-term thing,” Nuggets athletic trainer Jim Gillen said. “As far as when, it’s hard to say. But he was just relieved as anybody would be.”

Martin, a former No. 1 pick and all-star, reinjured his right knee on Saturday night in the loss at Houston. It’s possible he could be ready for Thursday’s game at the Los Angeles Lakers.

As for reserve forward Linas Kleiza, who has a sprained left ankle, he will be a game-time decision on Tuesday.

Guard Allen Iverson didn’t practice today, resting his body, but is expected to play against the Pacers.

The Nuggets also brought in a new player development coach — Stacey Augmon, the NBA veteran who was in Nuggets camp as a player this preseason.
