GOLDEN, Colo.—A woman suspected of setting fires in her home as her family slept inside has pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted first-degree murder.

Prosecutors say 48-year-old Nancy Jean Jewett set five fires in her home in Lakewood on April 10 before leaving for Black Hawk. Two of the fires were set in the bedroom where her husband was sleeping.

Prosecutors say Jewett’s husband, her son, her daughter and the daughter’s boyfriend were awakened by the smell of smoke around 2:15 a.m. and evacuated safely.

She could face 32 to 64 years in prison at a sentencing hearing March 11. She is being held on $1 million bond.
