Oakland Raiders quarterback Daunte Culpepper was limited in practice Thursday because of a sore quadriceps, but he is expected to play Sunday against the Broncos.

“He just came in this morning and it was bothering him, so we were safe with him,” Raiders coach Lane Kiffin said. “He did some stuff (Thursday), so we’ll see what he can do (today). I don’t anticipate him being out, but if he was then we’ll figure it out then.”

Culpepper said the injury initially occurred in last week’s 20-17 win over Kansas City. He practiced Wednesday, then iced his right thigh afterward, but awoke Thursday with considerable soreness in his leg.

Croyle’s availability in doubt. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Brodie Croyle missed practice for the second straight day because of a sore back, and his availability for Sunday’s game against the San Diego Chargers was uncertain.

If Croyle can’t practice today, coach Herm Edwards said Damon Huard will start.

Rams’ Bulger ruled out. St. Louis Rams quarterback Marc Bulger (concussion) failed medical tests and has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons.

Alexander’s prospects looking good. Running back Shaun Alexander practiced for the second consecutive day for the Seattle Seahawks, making it more likely he will play Sunday at Philadelphia for the first time since he sprained his knee 3 1/2 weeks ago.

Bills running back Thomas out indefinitely. Buffalo running back Anthony Thomas is out indefinitely with a torn calf muscle, likely leaving the Bills with two inexperienced running backs for their game at Washington on Sunday.

With Marshawn Lynch still recovering from a sprained left ankle, the running back duties fall to Fred Jackson, who is likely to start, and rookie fourth-round draft pick Dwayne Wright.
