
Van Halen’s reunion follows other successful tours (the Police, Genesis) in bringing original members Eddie and Alex Van Halen and David Lee Roth together for the first time in 24 years (along with Eddie’s son Wolfgang Van Halen). Tickets for the band’s Feb. 1 Pepsi Center show are expected to go on sale in early December, so watch this space in the coming weeks for details.
Kingston Trio fans won’t feel any younger to hear that the long-running folk group has embarked upon its 50th anniversary tour. The band has morphed several times since its 1958 debut, but it’s nonetheless impressive for any act to survive this long in the music industry. Keller Williams’ one-man-band approach may seem trite, but the singer cleverly pulls it off with looping technology. The jam rocker will go the other route and play the Fillmore Auditorium on Feb. 2 with the WMDs — a full “all-star” band he road-tested at festivals this summer. Ministry bills its latest road jaunt as the “C U LaTour” — ostensibly its last world tour. Disco Biscuits will visit four venues in our jam-band-friendly state in January, including Fort Collins’ Aggie Theater (Jan. 16), the Boulder Theater (Jan. 17), the Fillmore Auditorium (Jan. 18) and Vail’s Dobson Ice Arena (Jan. 19).
