DENVER—Government figures show Colorado received nearly $123 million as its share of federal revenue collected from mineral leases on federal and American Indian lands in fiscal 2007.
That was down from about $147 million in royalty receipts the previous fiscal year.
Colorado was among 34 states that collectively received $1.97 billion in royalty receipts for the 12 months that ended Sept. 30. That was down from $2.2 billion in fiscal 2006.
The Interior Department’s Minerals Management Service says the drop may be due partly to lower natural-gas prices.
Wyoming had the largest share of the revenues, collecting about $925 million.
