Able to leap tall buildings in a single bound oh, OK, maybe not tall buildings, but Chris Bryant of Akron, Ohio, can leap over cars.
The 23-year-old showed off his hops on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” a few months back and drew the attention of Nike executives.
Nike Inc., and Bryant, who works part-time waiting and busing tables at a restaurant, began working together and have designed a new shoe.
The orange-and-navy-blue running shoe is dubbed, what else, the “Car Jumper.” In addition, Nike plans to feature Bryant in an online commercial.
“It’s nice, so nice,” said Bryant, who hopes his new shoe leads to other business deals.
Bryant said he received thousands of dollars’ worth of Nike merchandise, and the company also plans to donate $10,000 in Bryant’s name to a charity. Bryant said he wants to use the money to buy food for the needy.
Bob Beamon must be proud.
