DENVER—Broncos receiver Javon Walker was held out Sunday against Kansas City as he continues his recovery from knee surgery.

Walker had played in two games since returning from a two-month absence, but he had only one catch for 7 yards.

Denver safety Nick Ferguson (knee) was also inactive.

The Chiefs were without running back Larry Johnson (foot) for a fifth straight week. Rookie Kolby Smith took Johnson’s place in the backfield. Smith had rushed for 233 yards on 52 carries over the previous two games.
