Play-by-play announcer Bryant Gumbel will not call the NFL Network game Thursday between the Denver Broncos and Houston Texans because of illness.
Tom Hammond, who works Notre Dame games for NBC, will fill in, NFL Network spokesman Seth Palansky said.
Gumbel is expected back in the booth for Saturday’s game between the Cincinnati Bengals and San Francisco 49ers.
