Wyclef Jean’s new album appears poised to recapture some of the magic of his biggest disc, 1997’s “The Carnival” (his new one is dubbed, appropriately, “Carnival, Vol. 2”). The former Fugee hasn’t produced anything as popular as “Gone Till November,” but he has stayed remarkably busy over the years. Tickets for his Gothic Theatre show on Jan. 29 are on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. ($39, Ticketmaster)

Lenny Kravitz risked Eagles-esque overexposure with a ham-fisted “American Woman” cover in 1999 — which incidentally won him a Grammy — but time and distance have cleansed our palates. Now a Jan. 22 Kravitz show at the Paramount Theatre doesn’t seem like such an awful thing. Tickets are on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. ($40-$42, TicketHorse)

Michael Franti & Spearhead’s fiery, politically conscious hip-hop, reggae and funk will warm the icy Dobson Arena when the frontman and his band play there President’s Day weekend. Tickets for the Feb. 16-17 shows are on sale at 10 a.m. today. ($25, Ticketmaster)

The Chinese New Year Spectacular added Denver to its list of international tour stops, bringing more than 60 dancers, singers and musicians to the Buell Theatre from Jan. 11-12. Tickets for the show are available now. ($25-$75, TicketsWest)

U.S. Bombs leads a pair of just-announced shows at the Falcon, a newly opened music venue and bowling alley next to the Gothic in Englewood. Tickets for that punk act’s Valentine’s Day show, as well as U-Melt’s Feb. 2 show at the Falcon, are on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. ($7-$14, )

Built to Spill barely gives Denverites time to miss it, as often as the indie rock act plays here. Tickets for the Feb. 28 Gothic Theatre show are on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. ($20, Ticketmaster)
