CHICAGO — A teenager was freed unharmed Sunday morning after being held hostage for more than 10 hours, and the man who had held her was taken into custody, authorities said.
Police spokesman Marcel Bright did not have details on how the situation ended at midmorning in a South Side apartment building or whether weapons were involved. Police went to the building around midnight in response to a domestic-related complaint, but they were still trying to determine the relationship between the man and the teenager.
