SPRINGFIELD, Ill.—Illinois state Sen. Dan Rutherford is recuperating after breaking his jaw in a fall while on vacation in Vail, Colorado.
Rutherford issued a news release saying he’s recuperating in a Colorado hospital, but the release didn’t include any details of the accident.
The Chenoa, Illinois Republican’s jaw is wired shut.
He hopes to return to Illinois this week, but his injury will cause him to miss two days of the legislative session on Wednesday and Thursday.
Rutherford is also state chairman of Republican Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign.
