Officials have closed the road across Dillon Dam due to suspicious activity after finding two men who said they were making a music video on the road.
The Summit County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report that two men were on the road, which was closed due to weather conditions, on Tuesday.
They told the deputies they were making a music video on the dam and knew the road was closed, according to the sheriff’s office.
“They were very cooperative with the deputies and agreed to show them the video footage. They also agreed to have their vehicle inspected that was parked at the east Dillon Dam gate,” according to a sheriff’s office release.
Information collected was forwarded to the Denver field office of the FBI.
“We have conducted and completed an assessment in coordination with the Colorado Information Analysis Center and the Summit County Sheriff’s Office, based on the information provided by the same,” FBI spokeswoman Rene Vonder Harr said in a statement. “We have determined that in this particular instance, no threat was identified.”
The mile-long road travels over Dillon Dam, a primary reservoir storage facility in Denver Water’s collection system.
The Denver Water Board will decide when to reopen the road.
