LOS ANGELES — Los Angeles coroner’s officials said Thursday that they could not find a specific cause of death for rapper Kayne West’s mother, who died after undergoing plastic surgery.
The coroner’s office said in a statement that Donda West died of “coronary artery disease and multiple post-operative factors” but that “there was no evidence of a surgical or anesthetic misadventure.”
In November, West, 58, arrived at a surgery center for routine cosmetic surgery, which lasted 5 1/2 hours. A day later, paramedics rushed an unconscious West from her home to a hospital, where she died.
West’s doctor was Jan Adams, who has hosted a plastic surgery show on the Discovery Health Channel. Adams has defended his handling of West’s case.
