The Paul Green School of Rock Music has opened a location in Denver to teach children ages 7-18 how to play rock music.

The lessons involve afternoon sessions, weekly group rehearsals and a final concert at a local club. Students in the first 12-week session started this month will learn to play the Pink Floyd album “The Wall” and perform in clubs.

The Denver school is run by musician, songwriter and producer Christopher Soucy. It is located at the Grant Avenue Community Center at 216 S. Grant St. and will accommodate up to 175 students.

The Paul Green School of Rock Music, founded in Philadelphia in 1998, inspired the documentary “Rock School.” It’s now a chain with more than 30 locations, inspired by Green’s lessons with group rehearsals.
