A family of five has been displaced by an early morning house fire in Denver where a woman was overcome by smoke.
The fire broke out at about 3:15 a.m. at 540 Utica St., said Lt. Phil Champagne of the Denver Fire Department.
The family — two adults and three children — was able to escape from the fire on their own, but one of the adults, a woman, suffered smoke inhalation and was taken to a local hospital, Champagne said.
Details on her condition were not available.
Firefighters battle sub-zero temperatures battling the fire which took about 10 minutes to get under control and 20 minutes to fully extinguish.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The home was heavily damaged, Champagne said.
