LONGMONT, Colo.—A memorial service for slain hiker Meredith Emerson is set for Friday at the First Presbyterian Church of Boulder.
Emerson, 24, disappeared while hiking on New Year’s Day in Georgia with her dog. Her body was found Jan. 7, and a 61-year-old drifter has been charged in her beating death.
Emerson’s parents live in Longmont.
