Fresh off a loss to Texas on Sunday, Colorado coach Jeff Bzdelik already is looking forward to the Buffs’ next tough test, against Kansas State and freshman phenom Michael Beasley.
“After having coached 18 years in the NBA, (I can say) Michael certainly is an NBA talent,” Bzdelik said. “In fact, I would encourage him to go pro before our game Wednesday.”
Big 12 Conference coaches were buzzing about Colorado and Bzdelik after the Buffs took then-No. 19 Texas to the wire in Austin.
“The days of thinking Colorado is going to be an easy win are over, if anybody ever thought that,” Kansas coach Bill Self said Monday.
Bzdelik has turned his attention to Kansas State and Beasley, the 6-foot- 10, 235-pound power forward who averages 24.6 points and 12.6 rebounds.
“He scores in a variety of ways, he’s strong, he’s got great hands, he’s physical, just a real talented player,” Bzdelik said.
