WASHINGTON — Voters across the country — from California to Connecticut — are getting a taste of what living in Iowa and New Hampshire was like at caucus and primary time.
Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama are plugging in television ads in advance of Feb. 5, when 22 states hold Democratic presidential nominating contests. Both are taking note of fears of a recession and are running ads focused on the economy and their proposed remedies. Clinton rolled out more than $1.6 million in new ads Wednesday in Arizona, California, Connecticut, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Utah. Obama, already on the air in California, Arizona, New Mexico, Missouri and Connecticut, will expand today to Alabama, Delaware, Georgia and Utah. John Edwards, concentrating on Saturday’s South Carolina primary and financially strapped, has yet to run any Feb. 5 ads.
Republicans will begin their Feb. 5 campaigns after their primary in Florida on Tuesday.
