After touring the world over and selling out three shows at Red Rocks Amphitheatre last summer, the Fray announced Wednesday it will play three intimate shows at the Bluebird Theater in early February — and the multiplatinum band will be playing new songs only at these shows.

Tickets to the shows — Feb. 1-3 at the 500-capacity venue — will be extremely limited. They go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday only at the Bluebird’s box office, 3317 E. Colfax Ave. The tickets to these shows, specially priced at $10, will not be available via telephone or the Internet.

There will be a four-ticket limit. Each person in line can buy tickets for just one night’s show. All the shows will be 16- and-over outings.

The Bluebird will open at 9 a.m. Saturday, when the theater’s staff will issue numbers and instructions or a ticket redemption. At 9:45 a.m., numbers 1 through 50 will be asked to stand in line. And once they’re done, the following numbers will follow.

Doors for the early-February shows will be 8 p.m., and the Fray will go on at 9 each night. There will be no opening bands, according to an announcement on the band’s website.
