OREM, Utah—Richard Troyer shot a game-high 17 points to lead Utah Valley State to an 81-58 win on Saturday over Johnson & Wales of Colorado.

Ryan Toolson added 16 points for Utah Valley with six assists. Jordan Brady and Josh Olsen had 15 and 10 points, respectively, for the Wolverines (9-13.)

Utah Valley used an 18-3 run in the second half to pull away from Johnson & Wales (4-16) in a close first half.

The Wolverines led by as much as nine points in the first half before the Wildcats chipped away at the lead to get within one point. Utah Valley led at halftime at 41-38.

The Wildcats tied the game at 41 with a 3-pointer from M.J. Crespin in the opening minute of the second half before Utah Valley’s run.

Sasha Pate led Johnson & Wales with 16 points.
