Getting your player ready...

Post preps editor Neil H. Devlin sat down with six of the top football recruits in Colorado to get their thoughts on the recruiting process, which culminates today when they sign letters of intent.

He’s leaving home. Bye-bye.

The buzz in Colorado is about CU’s return trip to the glory days of getting big-name prospects and Colorado State beginning a new era. But Tyler Jackson is charting his own course. The Douglas County defensive back is headed to Boise State, which showed far more interest much sooner than area schools.

No hard feelings or looking back.

“I wish the best of luck to CU and CSU. It’s just the way it went,” the 6-foot-1, 185-pounder said. “I don’t know what I would have picked between Boise and CU, but I wish them luck.”

Jackson wants to make an impact with the WAC’s Broncos as soon as possible as a ball- hawking defensive back who specialized in blocking kicks as a Douglas County star.

TYLER JACKSON

Will sign with: Boise State

Offers left on the table: Air Force, Colorado State, Kansas and Washington State

All-star credentials: All-Colorado (The Denver Post), 2007 Gold Helmet winner (The Denver Post)

Did you know? A three-sport athlete, Jackson was part of the Douglas County basketball team that upset top- ranked ThunderRidge 57-52 in overtime Friday.
