Post preps editor Neil H. Devlin sat down with six of the top football recruits in Colorado to get their thoughts on the recruiting process, which culminates today when they sign letters of intent.
Despite being a teenager, Nolan Brewster listens to his father. Tim Brewster, working on year two heading Minnesota’s Gophers, may love nothing more than having Nolan, his last son in high school, join his team. It would also reunite Nolan with older brother, Clint. The two teamed together at Mullen when his father was a Denver Broncos assistant.
However, Tim Brewster knew it was Nolan’s call and applied zero pressure.
“College is where you have to go out and do your own thing,” the 6-foot-2, 200-pound Nolan said. “He wanted me, but I’ve wanted to go to Texas for a long time.”
Nolan, a safety who earned a reputation as a big hitter, has been hooked on the ‘Horns — “It was kind of a no-brainer” — since the family lived there during one of Tim’s coaching stops.
He committed last spring and has remained firm. Next up is competing with bigger, faster, stronger players at a high-profile school. Texas will have a new starting secondary for 2008, and Brewster yearns to challenge for a spot, but redshirting will be a simple bump in his road.

Did you know? You probably have heard of Clint and Nolan Brewster, but they have an older brother, Eric, who plays wide receiver at Northern Arizona.
