A CDOT snowplow driver received minor injuries Monday after he was hit by a vehicle.
The Colorado Department of Transportation said in a release Tuesday that a sport utility vehicle lost control and hit the plow and its driver on Interstate 70 in Mount Vernon Canyon. The snowplow had stopped to block traffic for another accident, and the driver had gotten out.
CDOT encourages motorists to slow down and give plows plenty of room. The agency also advises drivers not to pass plows, especially on the right.
“Our drivers have limited visibility in their plows and can’t always see vehicles that are traveling so close to them,” CDOT spokeswoman Stacey Stegman said in a statement.
