CHEYENNE — An ice fisherman drowned Wednesday when his ATV fell through the ice at Glendo State Park.
Authorities said the victim was a 51-year-old man from Cheyenne, but they didn’t release his name.
Wyoming State Parks spokesman Gary Schoene said the man was riding in the Red Hills area when he broke through the ice about 8 a.m.
Schoene said witnesses to the accident called for help. Workers with the Glendo Fire Department, the Platte County Sheriff’s Department and state parks all responded.
Schoene said the man’s body was spotted with an underwater camera and recovered about 9:30 a.m.
