PHARMACEUTICAL RESEARCH AND MANUFACTURERS OF AMERICA: Bestowed its highest honor, the Discoverers Award, to Dr. Mi chael Bristow, co-director of the University of Colorado Cardiovascular Institute and professor of cardiology at the CU Denver School of Medicine. Bristow was cited for his contributions in the development of Coreg, a cardiovascular medication.

U.S. GREEN BUILDING COUNCIL: Elected Jim Bradburn, a mechanical engineer and sustainable-services coordinator with the RMH Group, as treasurer.

UNIVERSITY OF COLORADO AT BOULDER: Jacquelyn Sullivan has been appointed associate dean for student cultivation in the College of Engineering and Applied Science. Sullivan is a founding co-director of the college’s Integrated Teaching and Learning Program.

CULINAIRE INC.: The custom food manufacturer appointed Todd Warnke as culinary director.

COLORADO BRIGHT BEGINNINGS: Named Sandra L. Martin executive director.

NATIONAL JEWISH: Named Dr. David A. Schwartz director of the pulmonary and critical-care division and the Center for Genetics and Therapeutics.

THE FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER ASSOCIATION: Announced that Mark Kling joined the staff as executive director in January.

UNIVERSITY OF COLORADO DENVER SCHOOL OF MEDICINE: Jim Spencer, a former columnist at The Denver Post, has joined the university as communications director.

AMERICAN SOCIETY OF APPRAISERS: Announced that Gwendolyn Duda, a business-valuation appraiser with Clifton Gunderson LLP, has achieved accredited senior-appraiser status.

MORTENSON CONSTRUCTION: Promoted Tom Gunkel to chief executive and president.
