LOS ANGELES — Striking Hollywood writers voted 3,492-283 on Tuesday to end their three-month strike, which brought the entertainment industry to a standstill. Writers return to the job today.
Under a tentative contract approved Sunday by the union’s board of directors, writers would get a maximum flat fee of about $1,200 for online streamed programs in the deal’s first two years, then 2 percent of a distributor’s gross in the third year.
The guild will mail formal contract-ratification ballots to members over the next few days. Writers also can vote at meetings. All ballots must be cast by Feb. 25.
