LIBEREC, Czech Republic—Jean Marc Gaillard and Astrid Jacobsen won World Cup cross-country freestyle races on Saturday.
Gaillard completed the 11.4-kilometer course in 28 minutes, 1.3 seconds for the Frenchman’s first World Cup victory.
Lukas Bauer of the Czech Republic was second in 28:13.4 and has the overall lead with 996 points.
Jacobsen covered the 7.6-kilometer race in 20:54.6, edging Justyna Kowalczyk of Poland by 0.4. Charlotte Kalla of Sweden was third in 21:01.6.
Virpi Kuitunen of Finland, who leads the overall standings with 979 points, finished 38th. Kalla is second with 890 points and Jacobsen third with 870.
Men’s and women’s team sprint events are scheduled for Sunday.
