Denver coach George Karl said it’s possible that the team could sign an available free-agent during this season. If possible, Denver would likely go after an available shooter or ball-handler. Karl did mention the name of former Nuggets center Francisco Elson, but Seattle decided not to waive Elson.
Karl also expressed some displeasure that Sam Cassell, his former player, will likely join the Celtics instead of the Nuggets.
“I think we were always second, and it kind of angered me a bit,” Karl said. “I understand why he chose Boston, and Kevin (Garnett) is one of his best friends in basketball.”
