Domonique Foxworth an ex-Bronco? Say it ain’t so, Shanny.
For those not in the Denver media, there’s something you need to know about Foxworth. He’s your basic go-to guy when the chips are down, when the team is going bad, when nobody else feels like talking.
As we speak, Foxworth still is a Bronco. But that could change in the hours or days to come. He is rumored to be part of a trade package or packages that would net the Broncos help on the defensive line.
As much as I would hate to see him go, the Broncos have to make that deal if it would get them a quality defensive tackle. For all the potential their young linemen have, they need a veteran in the middle of the line to take the pressure off.
And there’s another factor at work, too. Foxworth was offered a one-year tender, meaning, if he plays for the Broncos in 2008, he would be a free agent after the season.
In that scenario, he would be all but gone. He believes he’s a starting-caliber cornerback and a handful of NFL teams would give him the chance.
