A two-vehicle crash in Douglas County this evening left one person dead near Monument.
The preliminary investigation indicates that the accident was caused by an “aggressive driver.”
Officials in El Paso and Douglas counties received multiple calls about an aggressive driver heading north on I-25, said Dave Joly, a deputy with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. The vehicle exited at County Line Road, where the driver crossed the center line, striking another vehicle containing two people.
Early reports list the driver of the first vehicle as the fatality. No information was available on the occupants of the other vehicle.
A traffic reconstruction team is at the scene of the accident and the investigation is ongoing.
The Denver Post will provide more information as it becomes available.
