Spring will be in the air today and tomorrow in Denver but winter-like weather should make a frosty return on Sunday.
Today will be sunny in Denver with a high temperature near 60 degrees and tomorrow will be mostly sunny with the high climbing to near 70, according to the National Weather Service.
Winds are expected to pick-up tonight in the mountains and along the foothills with gusts up to 50 mph, the weather service said, and Chinook winds will help fuel the unseasonably high temperatures in Denver and throughout the Eastern Plains on Saturday.
But snow creeps into Denver’s forecast on Saturday night – a 30 percent chance after 11 p.m. – and snow is expected to mix with rain on Sunday afternoon.
Sunday’s high temperature in Denver should be in the low 40s, the weather service reports.
Denver’s weather should rebound by Monday with sunny skies and the high temperature should top out at about 45 degrees.
High temperatures in some mountain areas will climb into the mid- to upper-40s today and tomorrow. Skies in the high country will be mostly sunny today with increasing clouds tomorrow.
The Vail forecast calls for snow likely on Sunday with a high temperature of about 29 degrees.
The Pacific front carrying snow and moisture to the state is expected to move through quickly and snow accumulations should be on the light side.
