TUCSON, Ariz.—Ubaldo Jimenez pitched two scoreless innings, Ryan Spilborghs went 2-for-2 and the Colorado Rockies beat the Mexican National All-Stars 15-2 on Friday.

Jimenez allowed a hit and a walk while striking out two in his first spring game of the year. Jimenez, who went 4-4 with a 4.28 ERA in 15 starts last season, is slated to be the Rockies’ No. 3 starter.

Jimenez came on during the Rockies stretch run, winning five straight starts, including three in the playoffs before losing Game 2 of the World Series against Boston.

“I’m trying to get deeper in the games. If I get fast innings it will help me,” Jimenez said. “I’m trying to go right after the hitters.”

Jimenez’s two-seam fastball and his curve kept Mexico’s hitters off balance.

“I’m trying to throw everything I have,” Jimenez said. “I’m not trying to relax.”

Spilborghs, who is expected to be the team’s fourth outfielder, had two doubles and an RBI.

Prospect Dexter Fowler played center and went 2-for-6 with a double and a stolen base.

Mexico’s Francisco Campos allowed six runs and nine hits through four innings. He walked one and struck out four.

Mexico manager Jose Tolentino was ejected in the seventh inning for arguing with the umpires before Albino Contreras hit a two-run homer to break up the shutout.

Notes:@ Rockies utilityman Jeff Baker is day-to-day because of a bruised left elbow, manager Clint Hurdle said.
