A “good Samaritan” on Interstate 25 turned out to be a monster, sexually assaulting a woman whose car had broken down near West 38th Avenue early Saturday, Denver police said today.

The attacker has a distinctive appearance. He is overweight and possibly as tall as 6-foot-4, with bushy eyebrows and an upper front tooth on the left side that appeared to be coming loose from the gum, police said. He had a soul patch and long hair on his chin and appeared to be in his late 30s, police said.

He was wearing a white T-shirt with jeans, white sneakers and a gray baseball cap with an oval logo. He also was wearing cloth gloves with the fingertips missing.

He left heading north on I-25 in an older model four-door with tinted windows and a golden yellow sticker on left side of the rear bumper. The vehicle also had a temporary license plate in the upper left corner of the back window.

The attack lasted 30 minutes, between 1:15 a.m. and 1:45 a.m., Denver police said.

Investigators are looking for another motorist, a woman, who stopped to help and may not have realized the stranded woman was under attack, said police spokesman Sonny Jackson. She is considered a witness, he said.

Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
