Employment up at United, Frontier. United Airlines had a workforce of about 52,500 in January, up from about 52,000 a year earlier, according to data from the Bureau of Transportation Statistics based on the number of full-time-equivalent employees.
Denver-based Frontier Airlines had 5,274 full-time equivalent employees in January, up from 4,545 a year earlier.
