Vail Resorts said it sold more than 700 Epic Passes, aimed at destination visitors, within hours of the new pass going on sale Tuesday. The $579 pass gives unlimited, unrestricted access to Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Keystone in Colorado and Heavenly near Lake Tahoe, Calif., for the 2008-09 season. Children’s Epic Passes are $279.
The company counts 6.3 million skier days across all five resorts each season, and about two-thirds of those days are from the destination market.
The Epic Pass will be on sale until Nov. 15.
Vail Resorts will announce the 2008-09 season pricing of Colorado and Summit Passes on April 2.
