A natural gas leak from a hot water heater sent two Dacono police officers and the homeowner to hospitals tonight.
A neighbor called police about the resident stumbling around inside the home on MacMurry Court about 6 p.m., said Jesse Hodgson, spokesman for Mountain View Fire Protection District.
Two officers found the resident face-down in the home, carried him out and an ambulance took the man to Good Samaritan Hospital in Lafayette. About an hour later, the officers began feeling woozy themselves and were taken to Longmont United Hospital, where they were checked and released, Hodgson said.
The gas lines to the home appeared to have recently been worked on and reconnected incorrectly, he said.
The homeowner nor the officers were identified.
