And now for something completely different.

Denver party-boy Kevin Larson, who has made a living and a reputation putting on over-the-top fetes for New Year’s Eve and Halloween and everything in between, is vamping up vaudeville.

On April 3, he takes over Lannie’s Clocktower Cabaret to present Theatre du Vaudeville, a two-act take on vaudeville with a “modern twist.”

The setup? “It’s about a woman getting ready for her first art show,” Larson explains. “She falls asleep, and it’s a walk through the lighter side of her subconscious. Then the second act goes through the darker side. Then she finds a balance and wakes up.”

Sounds like last night at my house.

To this end, Larson has gathered ballet dancers, clowns, fiddlers, contortionists, stilt walkers, accordion players, puppeteers, jesters, and belly and tango dancers. It might be a night to remember — and it’s a benefit for Larson’s new nonprofit, National Performer Alliance. Tix are $35 at .
