Colorado Springs police are asking for the public’s help in identifying two suspects in an assault and robbery earlier this month.
Police said two teenagers robbed Family Liquors at 435 N. Murray Blvd. on March 7 and punched the clerk in the mouth.
The teens first tried to buy cigars. When they couldn’t buy them because the didn’t have proper identification, they left.
The male returned five minutes later with a bandana over his face. Police say he tried to steal two bottles of cognac, and the clerk tried to stop him and got punched. The female held the door open for the male.
The two have been associated with a 1970s Jeep Wagoneer, tan with wood paneling. It was driven by a white female with blond hair; a heavy white male was in the passenger seat. The suspects got in the back, and the Jeep headed toward Bijou Street and Academy Boulevard.
The male suspect is described as a black teenager, 6 feet tall, 205 pounds, average build, with a long afro hairstyle. He was wearing a white hooded jacket with dark blue accents and the number 32 on the front and back.
The female suspect also appears to be a black teenager, 5-foot-6, 150 pounds, wearing a red knit cap and red jacket.
The Colorado Springs Police Department is asking anyone with information on the incident to contact Detective Seago at 719-444-7550 or call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 719-634-STOP.
